Credit Recovery provides a way to “recover” credit for a course in which a student was previously unsuccessful in earning academic credit towards graduation. Credit Recovery differs greatly from programs that allow students to earn “first time credit” in that students having already satisfied seat time requirements for a course in which they were unsuccessful can focus on earning credits based on competency of the content standards for the particular course.
How Does Credit Recovery Work? Credit Recovery courses at Sequoia begin with a web-based assessment of which lessons in the course may have been already mastered by the student. The assessment builds a picture of the student's standing in that particular course and the credit recovery department at Sequoia Choice maps out the lessons in which the student needs to spend more time reviewing in order to complete the course and recover the lost credit.
